This sculpture is in the front yard of the Montessori In Motion school in University Place, WA. Jennifer created this sculpture in the summer of 2010 as a commission for the school. The 12 foot tall dinosaur is modeled after an iguanadon, a herbivore. All of the pieces of steel that make up the sculpture are recycled or reclaimed, and many came from other students’ parents, i.e. old shovels for hands, and springs from broken play equipment for legs. This was a community effort, led by the school’s director Diana Longen. Many of the ‘drops’ on the dinosaur’s back are letters from signage commissions that Jennifer has created.
