Ed Voss approached Jennifer to design a cabin on Lake Whitman for his family’s vacation home. The cabin footprint was limited to that of an older structure due to its vicinity to the lake’s shoreline. Due to these constraints, the home became a tall skinny house and capitalizes on the views of the water. Challenges included shoreline permitting, well location, and the fact that the property was in Pierce County’s jurisdiction and required variances. Additionally, Dr. Voss retained Weddermann Architecture’s services for the design and permitting of a garage on the property, as well as permitting another existing cabin on an adjacent parcel.
