Bay Terrace Sea Dragons and Pearls

Commissioned through a Tacoma Housing Authority public art competition, Jennifer created this sculpture in collaboration with a local glass artist, Diane Hansen.

Inspired by seahorses, the artwork combines laser-cut steel and colorful cast glass, with a climbing vine designed to weave through the sculpture like seaweed. The male seahorse’s role in carrying young inspired themes of caregiving and family. Conversations with future residents further shaped the design, reflecting their shared commitment to supporting one another through life’s challenges and celebrating connection, resilience, and family.
